Some Products Are Being Moved to More Accurate Categories

Overview

As part of our ongoing catalog quality initiative, Jumia is migrating products from certain categories into updated, more accurate equivalents. Over time, some categories on our marketplace have become outdated, overlapping, or no longer reflect how customers actually search and shop. This migration corrects that by moving affected products into categories that better match their nature, so they are easier for customers to discover, compare, and purchase.

This migration is scheduled to begin during August and September 2026 for products, and will continue to roll out in phases over the coming months. Each phase targets a specific set of categories. If your products are affected in this phase, you may also be affected again in a future phase as more categories are updated, so we recommend keeping an eye on your email inbox.

Is my account affected?

Sellers with impacted products will receive a direct notification by email.

As the initiative progresses in further phases, you may receive additional notifications if more of your products are affected.

What does this mean for my listings?

This is strictly a category reassignment. Your products will remain active throughout the migration, with no downtime, de-listing, or interruption to your ability to sell. No action is required from you,our team manages the entire migration automatically, from preparation to execution to validation. You do not need to re-list, edit, or resubmit anything.

Your product content — titles, descriptions, specifications, and images — is untouched in this phase; only the category tag itself is updated.

The intent behind this initiative is to improve discoverability, so this change is designed to support, not hurt, your visibility and sales performance over time.

Where can I check my commission and fees?

You can always view the specific commission and fee details applicable to your products directly in your Vendor Hub account:
